Actually intolerant and abusive fundamentalist atheist "Humanist" U*Us, who go out of their way to make U*U congregations anything but welcoming to God believing people, are keeping me and a fair number other people from going to U*U "churches". . .
I just want to make it clear that I am speaking about a subset of U*U Humanists which is why I specifically describe them as "fundamentalist atheists" and enclose the word Humanist within quotation marks indicating that I do not consider such self-professed "Humanists" to be true Humanists. I sometimes refer to them as inhuman "Humanists" and I recently saw that someone else had similarly referred to them as "Humanists who don't like people". . . I consider myself to be something of a Humanist and do not believe that the word Humanist should be appropriated as a codeword for atheist. God believing people can be Humanists as much as, if not more so. . . than plenty of atheist Humanists.
